The school has all the facilities of a modern, well-equipped school. Students are encouraged to involve themselves in the various facilities in order to evolve a healthy and well-groomed personality. Students are motivated to form various activity clubs and groups to develop sustained interest and interact with other students. Other facilities available to students include :

Academics

PCS Bagha Purana prides itself on its nursery, as Nursery is the place where the youngest, the most innocent and the most delicate minds and bodies are nurtured. Children are like wet clay. Whatever falls on them creates an impression. We at PCS take this responsibility of ours very seriously and ensure that even at this tender age, the child learns discipline, manners, basic etiquettes, hygiene, colours, numbers, alphabet, nursery rhymes and introduction to reading and writing etc. all these are done playfully and harmoniously through play way method. Two lawns are totally dedicated for the tiny tots with swings, multi-action play system, toy train, rocking horses, elephants etc.

Education is meant to prepare the citizens of tomorrow and these future citizens take up their careers under the guidance of learned teachers according to the aptitude and flair they posess. The students of Nursery classes are educated in an informal way through play way method, with the help of modern aids to develop their latent skills to help them bloom in to self-reliant individuals.

Formal education is introduced using the NCERT syllabus. Art, Craft, Club Activities, Music, Computers, Dance are added in the curriculum. The main emphasis is to enable the child to express himself orally as well as in writing. The students are taught the whole aspect of life, most important facts are emphasized on and students are made to learn them before practicing them. Practical training and demonstrations are given in all possible areas and special attention is given in identifying the talents of the students.

Students are assessed by the CCE scheme introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Regular Formative and Summative assessments ensure continuous and comprehensive evaluation of both scholastic and co-scholastic areas.

At the plus two level, Science (Medical & Non Medical) and Commerce streams are offered along with English as a core subject. The Science stream offers PCM group with Biology/Physical Education/Punjabi. In the Commerce stream, the students have an option of studying Advanced Accountancy, Business Studies and Economics with or without Mathematics.

Evaluation of academic work

The promotion to the next class is based on cumulative assessment for the year; taking into account all the boosters & Terminal examinations, oral tests, projects, class work, home work and extra curricular activities. The passing mark is 40%

To keep the children aware of their traditions and culture the school celebrates different festivals and conduct special assemblies for the purpose.

Promotion of life skills

The importance of inter-personal and communication skills cannot be undermined in today’s competitive world. These need to be instilled in a person at a young age as it gets harder to acquire them as we grow older. The offerings under this module prepare students to handle challenging social and professional situations with confidence.

Debate, Elocution, Etiquette Building, Presentation Skills, public Speaking and reading Skills are the aspects laid stress upon.

  1. For Students

We aim at preventive rather than a curative approach to counseling. In this regard, the Life Skills Program at school covers aspects such as decision making and assertiveness training for students of classes VI – X. it is conducted regularly for students of class XII, thereby enabling students to make informed career choices.

  1. For Teachers

Workshops are organized for professional enrichment of faculty members as well as to sensitize them to various issues pertaining to students such as identification of special children, behavioral concerns etc.

  1. For Parents

Counseling is provided to parents in order to inform them about innovative educational programs and other issues related to their respective wards.

The school has a number of clubs as a part of the life skills program, each initiated to fulfill numerous secondary objectives, like the development of the skills needed for life such as communication, decision making, thinking, managing emotions, assertiveness, self-esteem building, resisting peer pressure and relationship skills but with a common primary objective which is to bring education closure to life.
